Section 5:
CD-R Bootlegs
Section 5 includes bootlegs pressed on CD-Recordables (CD-Rs). Due to a "homemade" appearance these are usually not as collectable as mass produced CD bootlegs although their quality has improved tremendously in the short time since they were introduced. Many CD-Rs are merely re-recordings of other bootlegs (copycat bootlegs) but since they are often compiled and distibuted by serious fans, rare and highly sought after material often finds its way onto this format.

Notes:
(1) It is many times difficult to trace the origin country of bootlegs so only the generic references "Europe" and "Japan" are used, though these are in several cases educated guesses.
(2) All song titles are presented as they appear on the cover of the bootleg, with some minor corrections for misspellings. Below is a list of the official titles of songs and the incorrect titles bootleggers, on occasion, used for them:
SONG:ALSO CALLED:
"All I Want" "All I Need"
"All I Need Is All I Want"
"Fall" "I Wanna See You Fall"
"Wanna See You Fall"
"The Saviour"
"Getting Plenty""Drag Me Down"
"Draggin Me Down"
"Where Ever You Want"
"The Hardest Thing In the World""Hardest Thing"
"Heart On the Staves""Airwaves"
"Swallow My Airwaves"
"Heart On the Stares"
"I Wanna Be Adored""Adored"
"Just a Little Bit""Nowhere Fast"
"Self Respect"
"Artful Dodger"
"Mission Impossible""You're No One"
"So Young""Misery Dictionary"
"Standing Here""I'm Standing Here"
"Tell Me" "Garage Flower"
"Tradjic Roundabout""You're Not So Good"
"Martin Luther"
"Trust a Fox""How Long"
"Hello"
"Where Angels Play""I Don't Want You Now"
"Angels Play"

Note: With the release of GARAGE FLOWER there are only a handful of Stone Roses songs that appear on bootlegs and are still officially unreleased:
"Adored""I Wanna Be Adored" second demo version
"Elephant Stone"Demo version with different lyrics
"Going Down"Acoustic demo version
"Hardest Thing"Early demo of "The Hardest Thing In the World" with different lyrics
"Heart On the Staves"Second demo version
"Just a Little Bit"Second demo version; this song is usually called "Nowhere Fast"
"She Bangs The Drums"Demo version
"Shoot You Down"Demo version
"Sugar Spun Sister"Demo version
"The Sun Still Shines"Demo; unavailable commercially
"Waterfall"Demo version
"Waterfall"Acoustic Demo version

Check out the Sounds Page to download mp3s of some of these rare tracks.

More than one demo/studio out-take bootleg claims to include a demo version of "Sally Cinnamon" and "All Across the Sands". They may or may not be demos but they sound indistinguishable from the commercially released versions.
Also, there is no known in-studio demo version of "Your Time Will Come", a song from the "Sally Cinnamon"-era Roses, but it appears on a CD-R and at least one cassette recording of a concert from that time. Similarly, there is no known in-studio recording of the significantly different early version of "Where Angels Play", though it too appears on a CD-R and on a cassette recording of a concert from 1987.
